Members are entitled to advocacy at federal and state governments
including state licensing boards.
Personal guidance and counsel on discrimination in managed
care and hospital privileges.
Legislative advocacy of RAMA will be growing steadily from
a level of a grassroots organization and at some point will
become strong enough to be heard nationally, serving as a
strong advocacy group for Russian physicians.
Representation to organized medicine, including AMA, state
and county medical societies also specialty and ethnic (FMG)
organizations.
Continuing Medical Education programs in the USA and Russia.
RAMA plans to organize and offer excellent CME programs in
the USA and in the future in Russia in collaboration with
the Russian Ministry of Health. Members can participate in
these CME programs.
Clerkship program in Russia for US medical students. RAMA
has established a formal medical student clerkship program
with medical institutions in Russia. Likewise, faculty exchange
is also sponsored by RAMA Charitable Foundation.
Charitable work in Russia and USA. Members can support Russia
through the activities of RAMA Charitable Foundation. RAMA
runs 13 charitable clinics in Russia and helps the victims
of national calamities. RAMA local chapters run charitable
clinics in Chicago, Detroit, and Houston.
Cultural RAMA provides opportunities for members to meet
their old friends and develop new friends and enjoy various
cultural activities that are organized during the convention.
Medical Student and Resident Section. Almost 10-12% of freshman
medical students in the US are of Russian origin. RAMA brings
together residents and medical students of Russian origin
and exchanges ideas. Medical Students and Resident Section
meets at the same time as RAMA governing body meetings and
conventions.
